ATVAM (i.e. SAHER) Project “Dallah Trans-Arabia”, Saudi Arabia
Consultant for ITS Systems in ATVAM Project:
Automated Traffic Violations Administering and Monitoring (known as SAHER) is a national ITS platform encompassing law enforcement/safety systems and back-office processes along with traffic management and security systems:
- Enforcement: Red light, fixed-mobile Speed infrastructure and Processing.
- Traffic: Signal control, DMS, CCTV, VBID, AVL, city police CCCs & Backoffice.
- Security: License Plate Recognition, AVL, National Information Centre.
I’ve participated within the ITS System Engineering department, as consultant for the ATVAM project and engineering life cycle starting with the initiation phase going through implementation till the operation taking care of the quality of the system development, fulfilling customer requirement, finding and analyzing system deficiencies and advising with effective solutions and technical designs. The following are the ATVAM project business objectives:
- Reducing road accidents (death rates) and enhancing road safety;
- Improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the transport network,
by smoothing the flow of traffic for a higher quality of life; and - Enhancing general security within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
